The suburban communities east of Los Angeles are becoming a magnet for retirees, and the need for affordable apartment units for seniors is rapidly outstripping supply.  AMCAL, a successful southern California developer based in Thousand Oaks, was able to locate an excellent site in Pomona to construct this apartment complex for residents 55 years of age and older.  The one and two-bedroom units are restricted to residents with incomes of 50% and 60% of Area Median Income, and the rents are 30% lower than at comparable market rate complexes in the area.  The project achieved 100% occupancy in 90 days.
