PROMOTING DOWNTOWN DEVELOPMENT

Ping Yuen
Sacramento, California

The City of Sacramento is aggressively promoting significant rehabilitation and new construction projects in its downtown core to retain the vitality and prominence befitting California’s capital city. Part of this renaissance is the redevelopment of the Ping Yuen Center. Built in 1970, this four-story concrete and masonry structure was the residential component of a larger development in the Chinatown community. It was operated by the Sacramento Housing Authority from 1972 until it was vacated in 1998 due to a lack of funds for necessary renovations.  The new Ping Yuen features a beautifully landscaped courtyard and has large community spaces where residents can gather and services can be provided.

Hudson is pleased to participate in development projects in downtown locations that allow low income seniors to live in a safe, convenient and affordable community.
